Welcome Mark Bezner and OLYMP!

Shirt market-leader OLYMP comes on board at MÄRZ München AG

Mr Mark Bezner, majority shareholder of OLYMP Bezner GmbH & Co. KG from Bietigheim-Bissingen (Administrative District of Ludwigsburg/Baden-Württemberg), is to acquire all of the shares in MÄRZ München AG, making him sole shareholder.

In OLYMP, MÄRZ have secured the backing of a financially strong partner and one with a wealth of experience of the sector. OLYMP have achieved exceptionally impressive growth in recent years.

This promising link-up of two successful producers from the clothing sector, both of whom can look back on a tradition of many years’ standing, paves the way for a basis that will see both product areas and ranges complement each other in an eminently sensible way. Despite the synergies, however, that this liaison will create, the brands OLYMP and MÄRZ will retain their independence and will not be amalgamated. The MÄRZ company headquarters are to remain in Munich.

Executive Management at MÄRZ München AG is to remain the responsibility of Stephan Gittel, who has held the position of Chief Executive up to now. Given his many years of experience with the company, his excellent knowledge of its internal make-up and his expertise in established knitwear markets, this decision makes a lot of sense. This will serve to preserve the excellent standard of knitwear competence that Germany’s leading player in the sector has been developing for over 90 years, displaying an inimitable passion for detail in the manner in which it has painstakingly addressed the task of developing its range of products.

One particularly gratifying aspect of it all is the fact that all 90 jobs nationwide are safe. The level of quality that one has come to associate with the MÄRZ brand will continue to be guaranteed by the approximately 380 people who are employed in MÄRZ’s own production facility in Hungary.

All in all, this places the medium-sized group of companies with its roots in Bavaria and Baden-Württemberg on a sound footing that will enable it to consolidate it prospects in tomorrow’s marketplace and secure stable growth in the premium sector for knitting, hosiery and shirts

MÄRZ the Official Gold Partner of the
well-established Mercedes Cup 2008 and 2009 tournaments

As the official Gold Partner of the Mercedes Cup, MÄRZ is conquering the Stuttgart centre court with an especially created Mercedes Cup collection.

On 07/06/08, around 100 children were invited to participate in the MÄRZ painting competition.  It was not only the prize, a teddy bear made of merino wool wearing an especially designed jumper, but the whole organisation of the competition that made children's hearts jump.

On 07/07/08, the event continued with a presentation of the stylish young MÄRZ "Tennis Collection for the Mercedes Cup", which was designed for ladies and gentlemen.  Even all referees and linesmen as well as all VIP hostesses wore an exclusively created collection.

Everyone of MÄRZ' actions was a real highlight.  Celebrities like Boris Becker, Axel Schulz, Kati Witt, and Anna Kurnikowa were obviously enthusiastic about the extravagant opening show, the Charity Gala, which took place in the evening.

Trend-Watch 2007

MÄRZ has repositioned itself and has knitted a partnership success model designed for the “modern classic woman”. The main details concerning the MÄRZ Ladies’ Outer Garments Partnership Concept 2007 were presented to our trading partners on February 4th, 2007, in Düsseldorf, Germany, within the framework of the CPD under the motto MÄRZ Trend Watch 2007.

The MÄRZ Trend Watch 2007 was declared open by MÄRZ General Manager Stephan Gittel who welcomed the guests to this event, which, in fact, was well attended, despite the handball World Championship finals. A great number of the invited VIPs joined the entertaining presentation. Ms. Henschel, the sales and marketing area manager at MÄRZ, introduced the new MÄRZ Ladies’ Outer Garments Partnership Concept 2007 to an interested audience, while Prof. Peter Wippermann outlined the relevance of the MÄRZ Ladies’ Outer Garments Partnership Concept, giving a captivating and entertaining lecture on the consumer trends of the generation 50+  which revealed the new MÄRZ Ladies’ Outer Garments Partnership’s proximity to the consumer.

The culinary delicacies served completed the relaxed get-together. And the cocktails offered in the new trend colours of the 2007 autumn/winter collection encouraged our guests to engage in lively discussions.

The MÄRZ Ladies’ Outer Garments Trend Watch 2007 was what is considered to be a successful way in into the new autumn/winter ordering season.
